Psychiatry

Psychiatry is a branch of medicine based on solid scientific evidence[LF1] , which focuses on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental, emotional and behavioral disorders that affect interpersonal relationships as well as social and work life.

We view our patients from a biological, psychological and social standpoint in a way that transcends the usual limitations of medicine, including social, cultural and historical perspectives for every patient.

Should I see a psychiatrist?

Identifying the symptoms and distinguishing between sudden or long-standing manifestations of distress is very helpful.

The most common issues to appear suddenly, or in the course of a few days are: panic or anxiety attacks, insomnia, hallucinations and suicidal ideation.

There are also longer-term symptoms, which may take two weeks or longer to develop. Some of them are: sadness, anxiety, hopelessness, loss of sexual drive, memory impairment, loss of focus, loss of (or excessive) appetite, excessive (or lack of) sleep, mood swings, fears, obsessions, compulsory behavior or social isolation.

If you can relate to any of these scenarios, don’t hesitate to ask for a consultation. Mind Body Collective can help you work through these issues and restore your wellbeing.
